I Pick - en français

Thanks to Jamie on twitter (you can find her at @fiteach) I dug up an acronym for "I Pick" in French.  Five simple words to remind students how to pick "just right" books to read during Daily 5 (or any time).  Thanks to Madame Richards who posted the acronym CRICC.

Here's my visual and labels to help students remember.  (More Daily Five posts on this blog can be found here.)

What do you use?  Do you have something better?  I'd love to hear about it!

  1. I'm a new French Immersion teacher. I'm starting grade one in September. I'm very thankful for this site. I'm sure I'll get a lot of help. I'm a little confused about how to use these posters. Do I print them somehow, or project them on screen for students to see?

    1. Hey there Dave, glad you found the blog. Click on any highlighted words for links to the documents to print. The CRICC poster is the link of the word 'visual'. Some are better as 11x17 (but you can print to any size as they are saved as PDF), I print bigger sizes to the photocopier at school or submit them to Staples Copy and Print Centre (Canada) online then go pick them up. It's pretty reasonable and then I get nice looking posters. The links take you to google docs where I store all of my documents. Most of what is there is on the blog but you might find it useful to browse those documents too. You can also download and save the documents to your computer so you know where they are when you need them. Al I ask is that you don't repost them somewhere as your own!! Merci, bonne chance! Shannon
